WPL Round 14 - Keilor Park vs Ashburton
Ashburton is now within one point of Box Hill on the WPL ladder after an impressive win against Keilor Park. In the first half Ashburton dominated possession by managed to only bag one goal, courtesy of a deft touch by Rosie Buretta following a corner. Keilor managed to equalise with a goal to Kerri Little, but this was against the run of play. In the second half the Ashy defence completely neutralised Keilor who had few, if any, chances. Big Rosie, Kelly Eaton and Steph Hegedus played great games and thwarted the Keilor attack at every opportunity. The Ashy midfield dominated with Little Rosie and Cindy Dussoye playing their hearts out, and giving opportunities to the forwards. Annabelle Gibney sparked up this week and was rewarded by the second Ashy goal, which was closely followed by a third to Cindy. At the 87 minute mark Liesel Woods came on to the pitch and showed why she will be under consideration for a starting bearth in the near future.
