WPL Round 6 - Saturday 26 April
Reserves
The reserves put in a spectacular performance on Saturday dealing out an 18 - nil hiding to the Eastern Lions. This was an impressive effort as some regular players were missing, having been called up to the Seniors for the 1:00 pm game. Two of these places were filled by Azize Erenli and Rebecca Trpcevski, who made the most of their promotion from the U18s and played exceptionally well. Azize dominated the midfield and constantly set up scoring shots for her team. Another impressive performance came from State League 2 player Ana Micsunescu.

Seniors
After last week's dissapointing draw the Ashy side had something to prove on Saturday. In the first half the Lions were competetive, however Ashy had dominated possession and had loads more corners and shots at goal despite the best efforts of Jade de Goey. Ashy went into the break 1 nil up and most thought that the game would be a low scoring win to Ashy. The luck started to roll Ashburtons way after the girls srtepped up a gear. Seyma Erenli found the form we are used to and she found the back of the net on 2 occasions, one of these followed an enormous throw in from Kelly Eaton which left the Lions defence way out of position. Cristine Pfeiffer impressed up forward as well and she scored a brace also. Kelly Eaton was again outstanding in defence and is taking over the mantle of Millie McLean who is with the NTC this year.
