Third-placed
Ashburton was too good for
fifth-placed Sandringham at
RJ Sillitoe Reserve, the
visitors securing a 2-1 win
to stay third on the WPL
table. Annabelle Gibney
scored a goal in each half,
while Samantha Nashed
grabbed one in reply for the
home side. The result means
Ashburton is guaranteed to
finish no lower than third
this season and seals for it
the double chance come
finals time. Sandringham,
with games against both
Bendigo and WVSA over the
next three weeks, is looks
secure in fifth.
Following
the defeat of Sandringham
3:1, the Ashy reserves have
won their league for the
third year in a row as they
are now 10 points clear of
the opposition with 3 games
remaining.
