Ashburton bounced back from its first loss of the season last week with a 2-1 home win over sixth-placed Sandringham. Scores were locked at one goal apiece at half time, but Ashburton added a second after the break to claim its seventh win of the season. Annabelle Gibney and Seyma Erenli were once again on target for the home side while Michelle Parton scored for Sandringham. Ashburton stays second, two points ahead of Box Hill, while Sandringham hangs on to sixth, one point ahead of the revitalised Comets.

Meanwhile the reserves continued their unbeaten run with a 3:2 score over Sandringham and the State 2 team continued their own winning sequence with a 3:2 result over Springvale South.
