 Ashburton retained top spot with a hard-fought 2-1 win over University of Melbourne at Princes Park on Sunday. Recent form pointed to an easy Ashburton win, but University pushed the ladder leaders all the way after scores were locked at 1-1 at the break. Keryn Walters registered her fourth goal of the season for the home side, but goals to Annabelle Gibney and Tina Grkinjic saw Ashburton prevail.
