Ashburton has secured top spot on the WPL premier league after an emphatic win against the Bendigo Vipers. The win was especially pleasing given that some key players were missing. The very unlucky first half, where the team could not buy a goal, was followed by a much better second half. Paola Bernini, playing at centre back, performed exceptionally well in an unfamiliar role. The score line finished at 6:0 with Cindy and Gibbo bagging a brace each and Seyma and Tina each kicking 1.
Meanwhile the reserves trounced the Vipers winning 12:0 and like the seniors remain on top of the table.
